It's time for some scenic turboprop and heli ops!
Located in the Southland region, Milford Sound (NZMF) is an extremely popular tourist destination nestled in the mountains and sounds on the west coast of the south island. It operates on a 767m long seal 11/29 and a large number of helipads. Milford Sound airport is home to a large number of tourist and adventure aviation operators running both fixed-wing and helicopter operations.
Short hops to Milford include hopping over from Queenstown (NZQN), Wanaka (NZWF), Manapouri (NZMO) and more. Some longer trips could include departures such as Franz Josef (NZFJ) or Invercargill (NZNV). Milford is not an IFR-equipped aerodrome. For those wanting to enjoy jet ops, flying in/out of Queenstown (NZQN) should provide the most varied traffic.
After arriving, be sure to stick around to watch and listen to the other traffic coming in and out of the airport for the event; then, why not pick a different airport to depart to and enjoy the fantastic scenery the area has to offer from NZA Simulations!

Whilst you can enjoy the whole NZZC as usual, the aim is to have as many movements in and out of the Milford Sound/Queenstown area as possible.

As a note for controllers wanting to control NZMF_TWR:
- Whilst the event is not rostered, please limit yourself to 50-minute slots so that more people can have a go.
the blocks are 0600 - 0650, 0650 - 0740, 0740 - 0830z.
- Make sure to read up on the procedures for the position - YOU ARE NOT A TOWER CONTROLLER.
