Balclutha (NZBA)
Balclutha aerodrome, located on the Clutha River 2km south of Balclutha township serves many aviation activities. South Otago aeroclub operate a C172 and Super Cub which they often have out flying about on sunny weekends. A small amount of flight training also occurs out of Balclutha aerodrome. Being a short grass strip, training organisations from surrounding aerodromes (Invercargill, Gore, Dunedin, Alexandra) often use this strip for short field takeoff and landing instruction. There is also a small crop-dusting business bassed out of Balclutha who operate an Air Tractor and two Fletcher type aircraft.
Dunedin Tower provides a Flight Information Service to Balclutha (DN_TWR 120.700).
